What You Can Do After This Chapter

Learning objective. Learner compares UPI, IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS in India, explaining limits, settlement timing, operating hours, and use cases, and selects the right rail for a given payment need. Learner practises this skill on realistic banking cases, explaining the reasoning clearly and using correct terminology throughout the work.

Practical assessment. Learner receives six Indian payment needs, including a 200,000 rupee same-day supplier payment, a 500 rupee instant peer transfer, and a 5,000,000 rupee high-value settlement, and recommends UPI, IMPS, NEFT, or RTGS for each with reasons. Learner then traces a failed UPI transaction, identifying the status, the reversal rule, and the customer communication required. Learner presents the work with calculations and assumptions stated clearly, then reviews it against the chapter checklist and corrects any gaps before submission.

Expected deliverables.

Completion criterion. Learner recommends the correct rail for at least five of six needs, states limits and timing accurately, and explains the failed UPI reversal rule correctly. Judgement covers accuracy, completeness, and clear written explanation in the submitted work.
